ABOUT THE TEAM
We want to provide the best experience for our customers who need life insurance. Since most of our customers interact with us via our UI’s, providing a first-class experience is paramount. We are looking for a highly technical, seasoned Director, UI Engineering, and whose proven leadership will help us build the life insurance platform of the future.

ABOUT THE ROLE
- Leading Engineering Managers, Sr Engineering Managers, Principal Engineers who build our UI’s at Bestow
- Own Bestow’s web presence that includes the direct-to-consumer site, our embedded and branded experiences with top-tier fintech partners, and SAAS web clients with the largest names in the insurance industry
- Define roadmap, strategy, and execution with Bestow’s design system
- Partner with Product Directors to plan, sequence, and schedule strategic initiatives
- Drive alignment across the engineering org to build the UI for the life insurance platform of the future
- Work with other product, design, engineering, and executive leaders to realize major initiatives
- You are passionate about building beautiful, high-quality UI’s for all of our customers
- Able to make big technical decisions with the team
- Willing and able to roll up sleeves, and support the team in technical a capacity
- Utilize automation testing to unlock an effective CI/CD pipeline
THIS ROLE REPORTS TO
- VP, Engineering
YOUR EXPERIENCE
- 6+ years in a senior engineering leadership role with a modern software organization
- Senior-level people leadership, including indirect management, developing leaders, and organizational design
- Expertise in established, modern, and emergent UI technologies from server-rendered to polymorphic rendered, statically generated, and Jamstack with a point of view on the proper application of each technology
- Proven track record of building / retaining/motivating high performing UI teams
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
- Expertise in effectively building and utilizing design libraries
- Expert in React & Typescript & Jest
- Passionate about PROD Alerting and Monitoring
- Expertise in A/B testing, conversion optimization, web analytics, and web performance testing and optimization
- Proficient in agile methodologies
- Expertise in modern continuous and super fast SDLC strategies using CI/CD, feature flagging, progressive rollout, and robust automated testing
