We are searching for a Director of Solution Engineering who will lead the implementation engineering team to deliver innovative designs, work with integrators and cross functional teams to launch new clients or complete needed changes to existing clients. The role will coordinate the fulfillment implementations and other designated network engineering projects. In this role you will represent Cart.com in client presentations, manage a team of engineers to deliver implementations on time to meet internal and external timelines, and drive overall strategy of this function.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading the team to develop and select the optimal design that optimizes existing infrastructure while delivering best in class service, productivity, and scalable capacity.
  • This team is responsible for reviewing internal client models, working with clients to validate solution assumptions and leveraging this information to decide on the location to launch the new client and work with the fulfillment team to determine the assets needed to launch the client.
  • Have a strong working knowledge of fulfillment processes, including, but not limited to, process flows for all functional areas, MHE requirements, capital investments, productivity rates for direct labor functions, headcount estimation, space requirements and storage media while working closely with the Fulfillment Systems team to help define WMS and WCS requirements long term
  • Oversee and manage the capital budgets for projects as well as forecast spend for the balance of the year specific to fulfillment and infrastructure
  • Develop a center of excellence capability for launching new clients.
  • New client launches process must be standardized enough to meet client needs yet balanced with profitable execution.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop partnerships, and partner with Sales, Continuous Improvement, and Operations to deliver innovative solutions that maximize customer value and reach
  • Execute on Cart.com profitability goals.
  • 5+ years of experience with engineering in a distribution, fulfillment, and/or manufacturing environment
  • Experience in supply chain sales solutions and working with business development for a 3PL
  • Ability to build PowerPoint and other materials and collateral required to communicate complex supply chain solutions for C-Level internal and external executive audiences
  • Experience with Network optimization tools preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher degree in Engineering
