We are looking for a strong candidate to join us as our Director of Solution Engineering leading our entire EMEA Solution Engineering team and reporting to the Global Vice President of Solution Engineering.
As Director, Solution Engineering (f/m/d), you are responsible for building and guiding a set of managers that oversee a team of regionally distributed Solution Engineers. You will help these managers grow the capabilities of an amazing team of individuals that are currently in place as well as help us attract new individuals as we grow and scale. You will also work in close collaboration with regional and global sales and partnership teams to align on go-to-market strategy, role focus and locations in order to support our continued growth.
The primary purpose of Contentful’s Solution Engineers organization is to delight prospects and customers with elite customer experiences. Solution Engineers serve as trusted advisors for prospects, customers, and internal Sales and Product teams. They map customer needs to the value of the Contentful platform, and demonstrate its benefits to developers, product managers, marketing leaders, and C-level executives. As the EMEA leader, you are responsible for scaling a team of managers that deliver effective, consultative, and technical sales engineers, be a role model on our most important opportunities, and assist in developing insights and strategies that ensure successful Contentful deployment and adoption.What to expect?
As the EMEA leader for the team, collaboration within the Solution Engineering team as well as with the broader organization will be a primary focus. You work closely with existing Solution Engineering managers as well as with the VP of Solution Engineering to establish growth strategies, consult on enablement and development opportunities, and organize initiatives related to the functional group.
You help refine our technology and product positioning to business and technical users, position the impact of digital towards a customers business, and develop a deep level of expertise of specific industries, customers, and solutions. You also serve as a conduit - in partnership with our Marketing, Sales and Customer Experience team - between prospects/customers and product development for product enhancements.
As a member of the Solution Engineering leadership team, you are responsible for measuring and inspecting the effectiveness of our Solution Engineers in relation to our GTM motion. You partner with Solution Engineering leaders globally to hire the right team members, incorporate best technical practices, evaluate the quality of our customer interactions and find efficiencies.
As the EMEA lead, you ensure that Contentful and the Solution Engineering team are a place where each individual can thrive. - A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, or a comparable field, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of SaaS Solution engineering management experience, with at least 2 of those 5 years as a leader of leaders
- 4+ years of influential success as a Sales/Solution Engineer individual contributor
- Excellent English communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience shaping the Solution Engineering practice to be a competitive differentiator.
