Job Summary
Cognizant is looking for an experienced top-notch Solution Architect to grow with our dev team! As an Architect, you will be involved from conception to completion with projects that are technologically sound and aesthetically impressive. An ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working in a fast paced, collaborative team. Someone that values the "team" and maximizes the opinions and expertise of their teammates to deliver quality.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • The Solution Architect will be responsible for hands-on development as well as lead the development of Next Generation Enterprise solutions
  • SE will be responsible for application development in support of the multi-platform roadmap.
  • Responsible for application architecture, ensure high performance, scalability and availability for those applications.
  • Areas of responsibility include:
  • Involved in planning of system and development deployment as well as responsible for meeting software compliance standards
  • Drives technical vision and influences product roadmap and vision
  • Implement large-scale, complex, cross-functional projects
  • Leads the discovery phase of large projects to develop high level design
  • Supervise the work of cross-functional groups of engineers, including offshore associates
  • Directs root cause analysis of critical business and production issues - Documents testing and maintenance of application corrections and improvements.
  • Influence decisions, builds consensus, and resolves conflicts constructively and proactively - Supports business objectives and ensures the business needs are

Responsibilities:

  • 15+ years of hands-on programming and integration experience (Java, J2EE/Spring, SOAP, REST APIs)
  • Strong Experience with AWS and BE APIs
  • Ten (10) years of experience in designing and developing Microservices applying Reactive patterns
  • Ten (10) years of experience in developing and designing solutions for high traffic/high volume in consumer facing industry domains.
  • 4+ years of experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies is required.
  • 3+ Experience in No-SQL and in-memory DB (MongoDB, Cassandra, Redis) is strongly preferred.
  • 3+ Experience in Microsoft Azure, Pivotal, DevOps and CI/CD tools and processes is strongly preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience with cloud platform services and application development using Microsoft Azure or AWS.
  • 3+ Experience in high-performance and high-frequency data streaming (using Kafka, Storm etc.) and handling large volume of batch data (using Spark) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in the e-commerce domain, with deep understanding of product search and browse, catalog and master data management, pertaining to Retail/Grocery industry is preferred.
  • Experience in Jira, Confluence is strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of design patterns and best practices.
  • Strong emphasis on Testing, Quality and Automation
  • Strong organization skills with good interpersonal skills and a customer service-oriented attitude.
  • Strong experience building consumer facing solutions and building applications on the public cloud.
  • Deep knowledge of scalability, security and maintainability of high-volume Internet applications
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Good understanding of continuous integration tools and frameworks like Jenkins Experience in working with the Agile environments, like Scrum and Kanban
  • Strong eCommerce expertise and Strong Knowledge and hands-on skills expertise in one or more of the sub systems like Order, Catalog etc preferrable
  • Experience with object-oriented principles and concepts.
  • Team player, share knowledge, improve processes and develop systematic solutions to problem patterns
  • Strong problem solving and solutions skills
  • Interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Experience in catalog, order management, pricing, promotions, internationalization, personalization, B2C and B2B commerce preferrable
  • Expertise with SDLC process, Agile methodology and Scrum practices.
