As a Developer Advocate Engineer at Zoom, you will create meaningful relationships with developers around the world in a scalable way. You will create tools and resources for the Zoom developer community to help them develop on the Zoom Developer platform. These can include sample apps, blog posts, documentation, and other developer tools and materials. You will also foster a community of developers that love Zoom and turn their feedback into action to improve Zoom's growing developer platform.

You Will:

  • Be a subject matter expert in one or more platforms supporting the Zoom Developer Ecosystem and deploying them within existing solutions using best practices.
  • Create sample apps that are integrated with external systems, work with engineering teams to develop and improve tooling, documentation, features to provide a seamless integration to partners.
  • Develop proof of concepts, and platform application developer recommendations and best practices to help our strategic partners build compelling applications that will drive excitement about the platform.
  • Work closely with our strategic partners to help integrate with Marketplace and multiple developer ecosystem offerings to ensure value creation.
  • Represent the partner view on our products and liaise with Product and Engineering teams to help prioritize the feedback product roadmap accordingly.
  • Identify key system architecture components, propose and help partners build innovative solutions that accelerate deployments.
  • Engage with partner developers to understand their business goals & objectives by demonstrating the value proposition of integration with our platform.
  • Troubleshoot Partner Developer issues in real time with Partner Engineers if needed.
  • Represent Zoom and its Developer offering at Partner events by presenting and running technical sessions, workshops and hackathons.
  • Work with our Business Development and Product organizations to develop proof of concepts and recommendations that help our strategic partners build compelling applications that drive understanding of new product integrations.
  • Own and drive relationships with external technical audiences of all kinds - from engineer to CTO - to understand business objectives and translate requirements into integrations.
  • Provide structured feedback, and work closely with Zooms product engineering teams to shape the future of our platform.


Must Have:

  • Previous experience (3+ years) as a software engineer.
  • Hands on experience developing Windows Desktop Applications using C#, .NET, Entity Framework, WCF, WPF, LinQ, SQL and SQL Server.
  • Extensive experience with Windows APIs and SDKs.
  • Knowledge of File system, Multi-threading, Tasks / Processes & Networking systems.
  • Working knowledge on tools such as Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, Jira and Visual Studio IDE.
  • Industry experience with Unreal and Unity.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills, including experience speaking to technical and business audiences.
  • Understanding of the enterprise and consumer software space.
  • Experience working with cloud identity providers and collaboration tools.
  • Understanding of the web technology stack (TCP/IP, HTTP, RESTful APIs).


Nice to Have:

  • Professional experience developing an SDK.
  • Deep understanding of video and audio.
  • Experience working in C# or C++ hybrid environments.
  • Experience building Electron-based applications.
  • Experience building Xamarin based applications.
  • Experience with security protocols (SAML, Kerberos, etc.) and enterprise user management systems (e.g. Active Directory).
  • Experience managing raw video and audio streams.
  • Experience wrapping C++ code into C# code.
  • Knowledgeable in a Unix/Linux environment.
  • Experience with Objective-C and/or Swift.
  • Software development skills with experience building full stack apps in node.js/PHP.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise software development technologies and practices.
