Description and Requirements
We are hiring a recent college graduate for a Hardware Development Engineer position in the Lenovo Infrastructure Solution Group (ISG), located in Morrisville, North Carolina. This is an exciting role in the Server Development organization that has a strong focus to be the #1 trusted IT Partner in the Datacenter. The candidate will be a member of the DCDC Power Development team, developing innovative and complex server designs for the ISG General Purpose ThinkSystem portfolio. These server designs are organic in that they are based on foundations of server design knowledge from multiple generations of servers the team has brought to market. This role also provides exposure to the latest voltage regulation and control technologies from Lenovo and its development partners to meet market demands and address future trends in the server market. The candidate will become an active member of a hardware development team that is highly motivated to engage, understand and solve the technical challenges each day.
Required skills:• Bachelors or Master's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering• 0 - 3 years of experience in x86 architecture and hardware design (Server design experience is preferred)• 0 - 3 years of experience in DCDC regulator design or relevant coursework• 0 - 3 years of experience in EDA schematic design tools for PCB schematic creation, support of Physical design activity, and then defining/performing hardware validation• Ability to triage and resolve issues from entry to medium levels of complexity• Willingness to learn and engage as a member of a team of highly motivated engineers that deliver innovative and challenging server designs• Strong written and verbal communication skills for a variety of tasks, including specification and test plan creation/reporting, defect investigation across functional teams, and executive updates• Ability to work onsite at the Morrisville, NC location
