What You Will Be Doing...

As a Manager in our Platform as a Service Team you will lead a team of DevOps/System Engineers who are passionate, committed, and excited about what they do. You are excited about people management and skilled in project management. You'll have a background in engineering support and be excited to work with new technologies that enable our internal engineering team to build and test our products. In this role, it is our hope that you will enjoy learning about and contributing to the process of developing leading edge/innovative storage technology from the ground up. You are committed to a culture of openness and transparency in both strategy and operations that in turn allows employees a deeper level of engagement in engineering and business decisions.

What You Bring to the Team...

  • Proven success in interacting with a variety of customers and team members to develop solutions that are sustainable
  • Ability to help with the design of a strategy for the teams handling of a variety of types of requests that enable engineering to build and test software and hardware
  • Ability to gather and communicate meaningful operational metrics (employee workload, system utilization, progress towards team's goals, defining and measuring against SLOs and SLAs
  • Collaborate with other leaders, architects and product owners that are geographically distributed to manage dependencies and handoffs
  • Experience supporting critical system & development infrastructure and services spanning multi sites
  • Knowledgeable in operating systems, system configuration management tools, and continuous integration systems
  • Understand Kubernetes and the systems used to manage it
  • Experience running systems on top of virtualization platforms such as VMware, OpenStack, and public cloud
  • Familiar with security best practices around user data and systems management in a development environment.  Examples would include protecting source code repositories

Desired Experience...

  • 3+ years as a Manager of an Engineering support team or a Cloud Infrastructure team
  • 2+ years in an Operations, Infrastructure, or DevOps role
  • Demonstrated ability to attract and mentor talented engineers
  • Have experience going through SOC2 or FedRAMP processes
  • History of running POCs and being the decision maker on Build vs Buy solutions
  • Familiarity with formal root cause analysis and running post mortem procedures
