The Boeing AvionX organization is seeking an AvionX - Cloud Deployment Engineering Project Lead (Level 5) to join our team in either Plano, Texas, Hazelwood, Missouri, Berkeley, Missouri, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Long Beach, California, or Mesa, Arizona to support AvionX product lines.
Boeing AvionX develops and produces avionics and electronics systems designed for use on aircraft and other platforms for purposes such as navigation, flight controls, information systems, and other core avionics functions. Who You Are
You are an Experienced Engineering Project Lead with a background in cloud deployment and cloud application development as related to the creation, implementation, maintenance and sustainment of development environments for product development. Your previous roles have provided you opportunities to develop, implement, and/or work in cloud based development environments for engineering. You are a self-motivated individual that is interested in growing their overall leadership, project management and cloud-based engineering knowledge to enable and promote the progress and development of products related to avionics.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design, development and test of cloud-based applications and systems. Hands-on and active development of new applications and system is expected.
  • Leads development of trade studies and other forms of analysis to formulate optimum solutions for users.
  • Facilitates development of system integration strategies and architectures that promote use of common tools and processes as related to cloud-based environments.
  • Leads and coordinates integration of new cloud-based technologies and the transition from legacy systems to support business requirements.
  • Performs and supports debugging activities to resolve application and system issues when they arise.
  • Execute cross-functional communication for matters involving tools and applications within AvionX.
  • Coordinate with engineering teams, IT, and business unit partners to develop and execute cloud-based technology roadmaps and address any tool/application issues.
  • Works under minimal direction


This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud Deployment and Environment Provisioning
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud Native Development and AWS
  • 3+ years of experience in project or program management as related to product development environments
  • Experience in general troubleshooting and environment debugging
  • Experience implementing and learning new technologies


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Self-Starter
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment


Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
