The Boeing Company is currently seeking multiple Associate Software Engineers (Networks and Distributed Systems) to join the Boeing Research and Development (BR&T) Cyber Security and Network Technology Capability Technology Team located in either location: Berkeley MO, Huntington Beach CA, Hazelwood MO or Huntsville AL.

As part of the Mission, Systems and Autonomy group within Boeing Research and Technology (BR&T), you will be a key contributor on a team that rapidly transitions capabilities and drives integrated technology development on the forefront of artificial intelligence, autonomy, avionics, cyber security, microelectronics, sensors, apertures, communications, and networking systems. Specifically, this role supports business development pursuits with the objective of driving and integrating distinguished proposal offerings for contracted research and development efforts.
Position Responsibilities:

  • Software development subject matter expert
  • Work closely with other engineers to develop wireless network protocols
  • Provide technical expertise for activities related to the development of virtual machines, emulations, models, and distributed networking and communication protocols for critical applications in tactical, dynamic or mobile environments
  • Support Lab/Virtual Machine (VM) environment
  • Develops, documents and maintains architectures, requirements, algorithms, interfaces and designs for software systems.
  • Develops and maintains code and integrates software components into a fully functional software system.
  • Serves as a subject matter expert for software domains, system-specific issues, processes and regulations
  • Be able to work independently or as part as a team
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously


This position allows telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. A final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills and Experience)

  • Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • Experience with debugging and/or developing with C, C++, or Python


Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment
  • Experience with networking protocols and architecture
  • Experience in Git, Jira and with software development in multiple environments
  • Experience with DevOps techniques


Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard
Relocation:
