Air frame Customer Support Engineering is seeking multiple Associate Multi-Discipline Engineers to join our team and make an immediate impact on both urgent and long-term fleet support in Long Beach, California.
You will be able to develop and document moderately complex requirements via drawings, data sets, reports, specifications and supporting data. Designs based on defined requirements. Tests and validates designs to meet operational and functional requirements. Monitors suppliers' performance to ensure integration and compliance with requirements. Resolves moderately complex problems with product integration and production anomalies. Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs. Participates with other members on project or program teams, management, and technical staff to define and implement engineering solutions to meet group, organization, and company objectives.
Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Performs structural analysis to determine structural integrity (margins of safety), using classical techniques and Boeing tools.
  • Develops structural math models and performs analysis, using finite element methods, to develop internal loads and stresses.
  • Creates strength check notes in support of document analysis.
  • Assists in the development of in-house tools to enable efficient performance of engineering tasks.
  • Resolving structural issues to help return airplanes into service.
  • Developing and analyzing repairs to be published in the Structural Repair Manual or Service Bulletins.
  • Perform detailed investigations and analyses to preclude safety issues.
  • Performing damage tolerance evaluations and crack growth analyses to determine airplane inspection requirements.
  • Communicate with External Customers

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

 

 

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an engineering field.
  • Master's degree in engineering or a related discipline by fall of 2021 and at least one year of internships OR a Bachelor's degree and 1-3 years of industry experience.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

 

 

  • Experience with Transport, Boeing 7-Series or McDonnell Douglas Aircraft is a plus.
  • Master of Science in Mechanical, Civil or Aerospace engineering preferred.

Education/ Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
This position does not offer relocation. Candidates must live in the immediate area or relocate at their own expense.
