Join our team in Long Beach, CA and make an immediate impact on our rapidly growing airplane development, modifications, customer service, and operational safety programs.As part of the Environmental Control Systems (ECS) group you will be working on components that directly impact the safety of airline passengers. This role provides hybrid work arrangement opportunities, with support virtually and in-person at our Long Beach office as appropriate. Position Responsibilities:

  • Applies fundamental concepts to the development and documentation of Environmental Control Systems (air conditioning, air distribution, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, nitrogen generating system, ice/rain protection, thermal analysis, computational fluid dynamics, etc.) design and analysis on large fixed wing aircraft.
  • Assesses complex system events to determine potential safety issues, utilizing airplane spatial integration at the system and component level.
  • Contributes to development of hardware and software component and system design requirements, and support supplier qualification of these components and systems.
  • Supports component and system laboratory/airplane testing to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements.
  • Works under general supervision with airline customers and airplane component suppliers to ensure effective system integration and customer satisfaction.

This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "US Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "US Person" includes US Citizen, lawful permanent Employer will not sponsor applicants for employment visa status. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree
  • 1+ years of experience working with or on an engineering team
  • 1+ years of experience with any engineering disciplines related to aircraft Environmental Control Systems analysis, including compressible/incompressible fluid mechanics, heat transfer, thermodynamics, physical chemistry, systems engineering, and/or computational fluid dynamics

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Masters of Science (or greater) from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or chemistry, or other technical degree
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplined Systems Engineering environment
  • Direct experience with aircraft Environmental Control Systems (air conditioning, air distribution, cabin pressure control, equipment cooling, cargo fire protection, nitrogen generating system, ice/rain protection, thermal analysis, computational fluid dynamics, etc.)
  • Experience with Boeing airplane modification programs
  • Ability to work with multiple team functions
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience
  • Desire to continuously improve our airplanes
  • ABET degree accreditation is preferred

Education/ Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
