AR/VR Game Development Software Engineer
description
We are seeking individuals who can provide a qualified level of experience and mentorship in the development and integration of software solutions. Project leadership positions are available, but not necessarily required. Our AR/VR/Game Development Software Engineer's responsibilities include review and preparation of engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation, but more importantly, successful candidates will apply engineering expertise to perform system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management. Our AR/VR/Game Development Software Engineers are intimately involved in the development of AR/VR/MR/Unity/MRTK software applications used for operation and support of the Navy's AR/VR-based Telemedicine remote mentoring program. Responsibilities will include writing, modifying, and adapting Unity game engine code (C#, C++, Unity assets), using toolkits such as Microsoft's MRTK and Unity Oculus XR, and performing research on AR/VR hardware (e.g. MS HoloLens 2, Oculus Quest 2, HTC VIVE, Magic Leap One, Nreal Light), software algorithms (e.g. point cloud/LiDAR rendering, inverse kinematics, video streaming, AI expert system), and game development platforms (e.g. Unity, Unreal). Be part of the team that will shape the Navy's Augmented Reality future.
SOLUTE seeks out opportunities that allow our engineers to work with modern and innovative technologies on impactful projects. Our solutions are built for use in mission critical systems and often are subject to interesting and challenging constraints.
We are a company of innovative professionals thriving in a highly motivating work environment that fosters creativity and independent thinking. If you are a motivated individual with a desire to support our service men and women, now is a great time to join SOLUTE!
What are some examples of work I could be a part of?

We are leveraging modern technologies such as AR, VR, MR, Unity, MRTK, headsets, 2D/3D/tracking cameras, haptic gloves/pens to bring the very best technology to our nation's defenses and improve the well-being of our warfighters.
What are some key technologies you will work with?
The exact technical stack varies from solution to solution but, there are a few technologies we often reach for when exploring a new problem:
- Unity, Unreal or other game engine platforms with C#/C++ programming
- MS HoloLens 2, Oculus Quest 2, HTC VIVE, Magic Leap One, Nreal Light headsets and smart glasses
- MRTK, Unity XR platform and other AR/VR/game development toolkits
- Intel RealSense, StereoLab ZED2, MS Kinect Azure, LiDAR cameras
- Point cloud, inverse kinematics, Vuforia calibration
