JOB SUMMARY:

This individual will be responsible for day-to-day production support issue monitoring and resolution. Additionally, this individual will ensure the completion of system maintenance, upgrades, and testing as required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead significant portions of critical and complex application work and projects
  • Work on multiple projects, systems, issues as a developer providing technical direction
  • Lead the planning, analysis, design, development, testing, maintenance, enhancements, integration, and/or maintenance support activities while efficiently and effectively coordinating and working with local and offshore team members as required
  • Provide 24 x 7 operational monitoring and production support of the Middleware application environments
  • Participating in an on-call support rotation is required
  • Primary responsibility for system change management and deployment in the Middleware environments
  • Ability to work independently for monitoring, installation, configuration, design, development, testing, and deployment
  • Interaction with local and offshore application developer resources
  • May develop conversion and migration designs and test plans
  • Complies with architecture and quality processes, principals, policies, and standards
  • Participates in software inspections and quality reviews
  • Remain abreast of current technologies and best practices that may be applicable to the company
  • Develop software specifications
  • Participates in short- and long-term planning sessions with application owners to identify and implement process and application improvements within an assigned client area
  • Documents discussion and agreements
  • Interfaces between the application owners and the IT organization in order to provide technical solutions to meet user needs
  • Escalates or resolves conflicts, as needed
  • Helps prioritize business needs and recommend options, risk, and costs vs. benefits
  • Helps develop detailed project plans and schedules or assist in the development of work plan timelines
  • Provides work direction and leadership to assigned programs, including scheduling, assignment of work, and review of individual project efforts
  • Identifies system technical requirements
  • Devises or modifies procedures to solve problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, the form of desired results, and integration of components


WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Hybrid work schedule; a combination of working remotely from home and 3-4 days a week in the office


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Five (5) years of current experience with IBM Transformation Extender v 9.0.0.x, v10.0.x (Design Studio, Partner Manager)


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five (5) years of experience with SQL / PLSQL
  • Five (5) years of experience with Unix Scripting


ADDITIONAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Understanding of EDI ANSI X12 Standards
  • Experience with PGP encryption & Transmission Protocols (FTP,SSH,SFTP,FTPS)
  • Proven understanding of Unix and Windows operating systems
  • Familiarity with Utility industry Retail EDI interfaces
  • Understanding and experience with Sarbanes Oxley controls as it applies to development including the necessary checks and validations required to ensure security, data quality, and reliability
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong focus on customer-facing interaction, customer service, and presentation
  • A motivated self-starter that can work independently and in teams on tasks and projects with limited supervision
  • Skill and proficiency in many technical functions and ability to integrate across disciplines
  • Knowledge of the full project life cycle including defining requirements, evaluating alternatives, designing, developing, and implementing solutions
  • Ability to use appropriate change control procedures for implementing software enhancements
