General Summary....
Provides leadership and initiative in a team environment. Under limited supervision, performs one or more of the following activities: configuration management, system administration, security administration, development system implementation, production system implementation. Responds to issues related to environment, hardware, system, and/or software and implements resolution across technology areas. Supports multiple systems simultaneously and provides leadership for large project efforts. Provide support or lead activities related to change management, outage management and/or project management. Mentor development of those in less senior positions.
This position will be responsible for.....

  • Design, configure, monitor and maintain LINUX, ESX, SAN, Backup systems to provide optimum performance and system availability.
  • Recommend, design, install and configure any of the following: IBM AIX LPAR's, VIO servers using NIM, mksysb, HMC and physical media, HP-UX systems using Ignite servers, RHEL using kickstart, Sun Solaris, ESX servers and virtual environments, storage and SAN solutions.
  • Building [Oracle] Linux in cloud (OCI) environments using automation: Terraform, Ansible, Puppet and Chef
  • FBE - Tasks include installation, patching/upgrading, administration changes, monitoring, compliance, and data protection for newly purchased Linux servers, storage, fabric, VMware clusters and data protection. FBE NIST security requirements will force this environment to be isolated from the rest of FSC enterprise. The isolation will prevent the use of enterprise tools for monitoring/admin. Additional requirements of 24x7x365 support and US citizenship.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues to resolution, escalating to next level support as appropriate.
  • Gather performance and data usage statistics for capacity planning and reporting.
  • Generate and maintain documentation of the LINUX, SAN and Backup environments.
  • Patch and maintain LINUX, Backup and SAN systems at supported levels.
  • Design, implement and maintain system security across LINUX platforms.
  • Create and implement shell scripts for automation, system monitoring and alerting.
  • Design, configure and maintain print queues. Troubleshoot printing issues to resolution.
  • Design and maintain operating system backup solutions for system recovery and disaster recovery.
  • Mentor and train junior, mid-level and senior administrators in North America and India.
  • This position is full-time and may require after hours or on-call support including, but not limited weekends and evenings.
  • This position may require travel (5%) for meetings and collaboration.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science, engineering, information systems or related field and/or equivalent formal training or work experience Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Seven to Ten (7-10) years' work experience in information technology or engineering environment.
  • Customer service driven.
  • Strong team player.
