VP, Global Engineering (Cloud/DevOps)

The VP of Global Engineering will have a passion for technology, excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. This person will manage the Global Engineering team including but not limited to data centers, cloud, servers, security, databases and networks. The primary goal of the Infrastructure Team is to deliver a high performing and highly reliable infrastructure for multiple software products. This position will have a profound impact on the company' s future at a defining moment in the evolution of the company.

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead the DevOps/SRE organization, build and maintain a roadmap to meet business goals, metrics for availability, resiliency, and performance.
  • Be responsible for the planning, implementation, and growth of the Azure cloud infrastructure
  • Implement continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
  • Responsible for running internal technical projects from concept to implementation for Development, Enterprise Applications and Infrastructure.
  • Build complex project plans and can understand Visio diagrams.
  • In depth understanding and experience with best-of-breed technologies, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and the emerging serverless paradigms.
  • Drive continuous improvement of overall software release process.
  • Participate in strategic planning, tactical operation planning, and the development of contingency operation plans for Production and other environments.
  • Overall leadership of the Infrastructure, Operations, and Corporate Systems infrastructure teams.
  • Oversee Capital Expenditures and Computing expenses for the company, including budgeting, tracking, and cost containment.
  • Work with Executive Senior management to develop and direct the long-term strategy for the Infrastructure Architecture team.
  • Develop and implements standards, procedures, best practices and business processes.
  • Create PowerPoint presentations / decks and present to business unit leaders and C-level executives about IT initiatives and results.
  • Strong organizational, presentation, and customer service skills.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years total experience in IT, including 10+ years in a production 24/7 high consumer traffic Web environment, including Web hosting, security and information protection, load balancing implementations and high availability networks. Bachelor' s Degree or higher in Engineering, Technology or related field or commensurate work experience.
  • Experience moving Infrastructure & Applications to the Cloud. AWS and Azure are preferred.
  • Former technical architect or lead who ascended into leadership.
  • Prior experience in a consulting practice specializing in datacenter consolidations, cloud consulting, or heavy focus on IT for mergers & acquisitions.
  • Experience designing and building web environments on Azure, which includes working with services around Analytics, IoT, Compute and various Data capabilities.
  • Experience building and maintaining cloud-native applications
  • Experience using DevOps tools in a cloud environment, such as Ansible, Docker, GitHub, Jenkins, and Kubernetes.
  • Experience in handling multiple concurrent complex projects within a technical environment
  • Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with all levels
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. High emotional intelligence who can interface and extend leadership cross-functionally.
