About the Role:
The Engineer, Technical Operations is focused on supporting the stability, reliability, and day-to-day operation of applications that support fund accounting, financial data processing, data transformations, and reporting functions. The role works closely with Product, Engineering, Operations, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to investigate issues, maintain application performance, and ensure accurate processing of financial and operational data.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Provide technical and business support for GSCF applications supporting daily operations, fund accounting, financial reporting, and data processing functions.
- Support data flows, data transformations, system integrations, and reporting processes to ensure the accurate and timely delivery of financial and operational data.
- Work closely with Product, Data Engineering, Infrastructure, and business stakeholders to investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve reported application and data-related issues.
- Analyze application, integration, and data processing issues using monitoring tools, ETL platforms, SQL, Snowflake, and other diagnostic tools to identify root causes and implement solutions.
- Provide technical and business support for GSCF applications supporting fund accounting, financial reporting, and data processing functions.
- Support data flows, data transformations, integrations, and reporting processes to ensure accurate and timely delivery of financial and operational data.
- Work closely with Product, Data Engineers, Infrastructure teams and business stakeholders to investigate and resolve reported issues.
- Analyze application, integration, and data processing issues using SQL, Snowflake, and Python.
- Support data validation, reconciliation, and troubleshooting activities to ensure data accuracy and integrity across systems.
- Assist in the generation and maintenance of financial, operational, and analytical reports.
- Monitor application performance and participate in root cause analysis activities for production incidents.
- Assess the impact of application issues and communicate findings to business and technology teams in a timely manner.
- Document support procedures, operational runbooks, application workflows, and technical documentation.
- Support release management activities, including testing, deployment validation, and production support.
- Collaborate with Accounting, Treasury, Capital Markets, Operations, and other business teams to understand requirements and support reporting needs.
- Identify opportunities to improve operational processes, data quality, reporting accuracy, and application performance.
- Act as a subject matter resource for supported applications and related business processes.
What You Bring to the Team:
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience
- Strong SQL knowledge and experience with complex data analysis and troubleshooting
- Experience working with reporting tools, Snowflake or similar cloud-based data platforms
- Experience supporting data transformation, ETL, integration, or data processing applications
- Experience in root-cause analysis, report generation, and technical documentation
- Knowledge / experience in Python programming is preferred
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills
- Clear oral and written communication skills in English
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in technical support, application support, technical operations, or related roles
- Experience supporting accounting systems, financial systems, or applications used by financial institutions is preferred
- Understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, accounting entries, reconciliations, and financial data processing is highly desirable
- Knowledge of data reconciliation, financial reporting, and data quality controls is an advantage
- Can-do and positive attitude with a strong ability to adapt in a constantly changing environment
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a global team
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering accurate and reliable results
