About TeamThe Hardware Engineering team plays a critical role in enabling Target's $100B+ retail platform by providing essential cloud platform capabilities. We empower engineering teams across Target to provide a stable, consumable, and performant Compute and Storage foundation across all our on-premises locations, including Stores, Supply Chain, and Data Centers. About the RoleAs an Engineer in our Chimera team, you will excel as a full stack engineer to design, develop, implement and support a engineering platform developing products for our IaaS (Infrastructure as a service) platform. You will cultivate a learning culture while developing the platform and show curiosity in learning a diverse array of technologies bringing forth ideas to constantly enhance the product. You should be inclined to solve problems which oftentimes have not been solved anywhere with open source or vendor solutions. Due to Target’s sheer size...we manage thousands of servers across our on-premises environments and to maintain and scale this, we need creative, innovative, and in-house built automation to tailor to our specific needs. You’ll partner closely with our other HWE teams to deliver a core set of capabilities across the Compute and Storage HW domains. We will be ensuring our platform are secure, stable,performant, scalable and efficient. Success in this role will require strong and innovative approaches to problem solving, software engineering and communication skills. (written and verbal, formal and informal). You should be flexible, show accountability, and a self-motivated individual paying attention to detail.Core responsibilities of this job are described within this job description. Desired Qualifications:1-2 years of Experience coding in one of the following languagesReact/Golang/PythonExperience in CI-CD pipelines and test-driven development.Strong Linux CLI skillsSupporting 24x7 business critical capabilities.Minimum Qualifications:Experience or knack for coding.Knowledge of technical approaches to design, build, test, and debug problems as required by domain.Maintains technical knowledge within areas of expertise.Aptitude to learn new technology and skills.
