Engineer Sr, Electrical

Location: Lumentum Thailand, Navanakorn – Pathum Thani

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to provide technical support for manufacturing equipment, electrical systems, and automation within Lumentum’s optical and photonic manufacturing operations.

This role partners with Manufacturing, Equipment Engineering, Process Engineering, Facilities, EHS, and Quality teams to ensure electrical systems operate safely, reliably, and efficiently while supporting production readiness and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Electrical Engineering & Production Support

  • Provide technical support for electrical systems, manufacturing equipment, control panels, and automation systems.

  • Troubleshoot complex electrical, electronic, control, and equipment-related issues.

  • Analyze recurring failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.

  • Support equipment installation, setup, qualification, and release to production.

  • Review electrical designs, schematics, wiring diagrams, specifications, and equipment documentation.

Equipment Reliability & Improvement

  • Improve equipment reliability, uptime, safety, and manufacturing performance.

  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance strategies for electrical systems.

  • Lead electrical upgrades, equipment modifications, and automation-improvement projects.

  • Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, energy consumption, maintenance costs, and operational risks.

  • Support spare-parts planning and obsolescence management for critical electrical components.

Project & Change Management

  • Lead or support electrical-engineering projects from design through installation and commissioning.

  • Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and cross-functional teams to ensure project requirements are achieved.

  • Conduct technical and safety risk assessments before implementing electrical changes.

  • Maintain engineering drawings, specifications, validation records, and change-control documentation.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure electrical systems comply with company requirements, engineering standards, and applicable legal regulations.

  • Support electrical safety, machine safety, lockout/tagout, and EHS improvement activities.

  • Support internal, external, and regulatory audits.

  • Provide technical guidance and training to technicians and production teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Control Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.

  • At least five years of experience in electrical engineering, equipment engineering, automation, or manufacturing support.

  • Experience in optical, photonic, semiconductor, electronics, or high-technology manufacturing is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, control panels, motors, sensors, power supplies, PLCs, and industrial automation.

  • Ability to read and develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.

  • Strong troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and problem-solving skills.

  • Experience with equipment installation, qualification, preventive maintenance, and engineering change control.

  • Good project-management and cross-functional collaboration skills.

  • Good command of written and spoken English.
