Summary Generated by Built In

Build technology that helps more people find their path to better sleep.

As an Engineer, Software Engineering, you’ll help build and evolve Sleep Health Assist, a healthcare interoperability solution designed to support awareness and diagnosis of obstructive sleep apnea. You’ll work on a full-stack product that connects with electronic health record systems and helps healthcare providers identify patients who may be at risk and guide them towards appropriate testing and care.

This is a hands-on role with a strong backend focus, working primarily with Java and Spring Boot while contributing across the full stack. You’ll join a global engineering team working across the US and India, building new capabilities, improving the platform and expanding integrations with healthcare partners. Candidates based in the Eastern or Central time zones are preferred to support closer collaboration across the team.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop and maintain backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
  • Build RESTful APIs and microservices that support a scalable healthcare platform.
  • Contribute to frontend development using ReactJS, JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Help shape technical architecture and design decisions as the product continues to grow.
  • Build new features, improve existing functionality and help make the platform more efficient.
  • Support integrations with EHR platforms and other healthcare partners as the product expands.
  • Write unit and integration tests using test-driven development principles.
  • Troubleshoot performance issues and apply sound algorithmic practices.
  • Apply secure programming practices and support compliance with data protection standards.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Use AI tools as part of paired programming for activities such as code generation, refactoring, documentation and test creation.
  • Document technical specifications and communicate clearly with colleagues across a global team.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 4+ years of software development experience.
  • Strong Java and Spring Boot fundamentals, with the ability to work confidently on backend development.
  • Experience with ReactJS or another frontend framework.
  • Experience developing REST APIs and microservices.
  • Understanding of enterprise software architecture and n-tier applications.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with healthcare interoperability, including HL7, FHIR or SMART on FHIR.
  • Exposure to AWS, containerisation technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes, or infrastructure as code using Terraform.
  • Experience with relational or NoSQL databases, CI/CD pipelines, Agile methodologies or DevOps practices.

What Sets You Apart

  • Collaborative Mindset: You work openly with colleagues across locations and disciplines, sharing ideas and contributing to team decisions.
  • Curiosity: You’re comfortable learning new domains and finding your way through unfamiliar problems.
  • Ownership: You follow through on your work and can be trusted to contribute effectively in a remote, globally distributed team.
  • Adaptability: You’re comfortable working on a growing product where priorities include new enhancements, existing issues and new integrations.
  • Integrity: You bring honesty, sound judgement and a thoughtful approach to how you work with others.
