Contract Period: Permanent / 2-year Contract
Work Location: Sheung Shui
Applications are invited for the above vacancy in the Construction Branch of North Region. Reporting to the Senior Engineer of the Branch, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Manage stock materials and support the recommendation of appropriate replenishment strategies to optimize inventory levels while maintaining a high standard of supply reliability and cost effectiveness
- Monitor supply market conditions and support initiatives to enhance material quality and supply stability
- Assist in the establishment and management of contracts to support construction, operations, and maintenance activities
- Supervise CLP’s frontline staff and contractors to ensure their discipline, work quality and safety performance
- Support contract administration activities, including preparation, monitoring, and coordination of contracts and procurement exercises
- Perform functional and technical safety audits and quality assurance checks for both internal staff and contractors with reference to legislative requirements as well as pre-determined policies, Company procedures, Health, Safety, Environment & Quality standards and programmes
- Liaise and co-ordinate with various departments for project work, and plan, schedule and establish proper procedures and precautions to meet the Company’s requirements and Safety Rules
- Review safety, work and other documents prepared by contractors and assist in ensuring compliance with procedures and cost control principles
- Ensure proper record updating and management
- Perform standby duty after normal office hours and during adverse weather condition / typhoon period, and carry out emergency repairs / shift duties as and when required
Requirements:-
- A recognized university degree or equivalent in relevant engineering discipline
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant engineering experience in electricity industry. Experience in contract management, procurement processes, inventory control and power distribution operations are an advantage
- Familiarity with distribution overhead line systems and related work is preferred
- Good understanding of CLP Power Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules and relevant safety procedures, engineering standards and codes of practice
- Analytical and able to work under pressure and tight schedule
- Strong sense of responsibility, with good safety knowledge and mindset
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Good knowledge of functionalities of PC application e.g. Power BI, MS PowerPoint, Power Automate, MS Excel
- Ability to work independently and communicate technical concepts in English and Cantonese, verbally and written
- Possession of a valid Driving License (class 1, 2) is preferred
Candidates with less qualification and/or experience but demonstrate good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
