Contract Period: 2-Year Contract
Applications are invited for the above vacancy in the Construction Branch of East & West Region. Reporting to Senior Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:
- Implement construction projects for provision of supply, reinforcement of system network, diversion or other works as assigned by the branch team leaders
- Negotiate and communicate with customers, contractors, utilities, government, developers, landowners etc. to ensure smooth project implementation
- Supervise internal and contractor staff in the delivery of construction tasks including but not limited to cable laying, plant erection, overhead line erection and commissioning of the installed power plant
- Supervise internal and contractor staff to ensure compliance with safety and work procedures
- Carry out switching operation on LV and HV system for implementation of projects
- Update relevant system records for the project, circuit and equipment status
- Perform functional and technical safety audit and quality assurance checks for both internal staff and contractors with reference to legislative requirements as well as pre-determined policies, Company procedures, HSEQ standards and programmes
- Liaise and co-ordinate with various departments for project work, and plan, schedule and set-up proper procedures and precautions to meet the Company’s requirements and Safety Rules
- Ensure adequate and justifiable budgets are prepared for the activities of the Branch, and control the expenditure
- Review safety, work and other documents prepared by subordinates or contractors to ensure compliance with procedures and cost control principles
- Supervise, coach, appraise and motivate subordinates to meet present and future business needs
- Ensure proper record updating and management

Perform standby duty after normal office hours and during adverse weather condition / typhoon period, and carry out emergency repairs / shift duties as and when required
Requirements:
- A recognized university degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
- At least three years’ relevant engineering experience in electricity supply industry
- Possession of 11kV Authorised Person qualification is preferred
- Knowledge on various IT systems such as EWMS, ADMS, ArcGISPro
- Familiar with CLP Power Electrical and Mechanical Safety Rules, engineering standards and codes of practice / management systems, occupational health and environment related legislations
- Analytical and able to work under pressure and tight schedule
- Strong sense of responsibility, with good safety knowledge and mindset
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and communicate technical concepts in English and Cantonese, verbally and written
- Possession of a valid Driving License (class 1/1A, 2/2A) is preferred
Candidates with less qualification and/or experience but demonstrate good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
