Job Responsibilities:
Magna International, a global leader in auto parts manufacturing, is seeking a Network Engineer to join our dynamic IT team in Bangalore, India. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong hands-on background in designing, deploying, and managing advanced network monitoring solutions. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our IT infrastructure across a complex global environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, implement, and manage Cisco-based network solutions, including routing, switching, and wireless networks.
  • Configure and maintain network devices such as routers, switches, and wireless access points.
  • Utilize Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for network access control and security policy enforcement.
  • Manage and optimize network performance using Cisco Catalyst Center.
  • Implement and manage common network technologies, including VLANs, VTP, BGP, SD-WAN and Spanning Tree.
  • Design and deploy wireless networks, including performing wireless surveys to ensure optimal coverage and performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Monitor network performance and security and implement necessary improvements.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to support and enhance the overall network infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in network technologies.

Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on Cisco routing, switching, and wireless networks.
    • Strong experience with Cisco ISE and Cisco Catalyst Center.
    • Proficiency in common network technologies such as VLANs, VTP, BGP, SD-WAN, Spanning Tree.
    • Strong experience with network design, implementation, active and passive network components like transceivers, Ethernet cables, fiber cables.
    • Experience with designing and deploying wireless networks, including performing wireless surveys.
    • Cisco certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP) are highly desirable.
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
    • Strong understanding of network security principles and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skills:
    • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
    • Excellent collaboration and communication skills to work with cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Fortinet firewalls.
  • Knowledge of hybrid cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and incident management.
  • Ability to work in other time zones.
