JOB OVERVIEW

The Maintenance Engineer III will maintain a safe, efficient and well operated property. Engineering is expected to respond to all maintenance requests with a positive attitude and pleasant disposition. Preventive maintenance tasks will be assigned daily. Support the Emergency Response Team to handle emergencies around the resort.  

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  1. Responsible for and not limited to operating the chilled water plant and boilers to maintain temperatures throughout the property.
  2. Operating various equipment, maintaining domestic hot and cold water systems, glycol systems, AES systems and electrical switchgear to ensure proper operation.
  3.  Maintenance to VAV’s, fan coils and split units.
  4. Performs inspections of all property assets to ensure maintenance to standard.
  5. Assist Facility Manager in monitoring energy consumption, maintaining equipment and supply inventories.
  6. Maintains open communication and planning with all resort property departments to ensure smooth operations and guest/member satisfaction.
  7. Maintains daily work logs and records to meet labor costs with budgetary guidelines.
  8. Perform other duties and special projects by Management.
  9. Fix/repair toilet problems, stopped-up sinks, minor electrical problems, lock problems, guest room safe problems, HVAC problem and other maintenance requests.
  10. Dismantle defective machines and equipment and install new or repaired parts.
  11. Maintains cleanliness and excellent condition of all equipment and work area.
  12. Executes emergency procedures in accordance to property standards.
  13. Repair and maintain physical structure of establishment.
  14. Provides supervision and training to subordinate engineering positions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

Guest rooms, (occupied and unoccupied) meeting rooms, The Sports Club, Birdwood Golf Course, dining rooms, kitchens, bakery, Spa and all back-of house areas. Engineers should not enter dining rooms or meeting rooms during times of occupancy unless unavoidable. Work in occupied guest rooms will be at the guest request, only.

Requirements

Essentials

  1. Strong mechanical background with a minimum 5 years hands on activity, requiring journey level trade discipline responsibility.
  2. Certification or Coursework in engineering/maintenance related field of study
  3. Ability to provide personal hand tools.
  4. Ability to use, read and understand Volt-Ohm-Meter.
  5. Responsible for arriving to work on-time or early for scheduled shift, in all weather conditions, and as called upon.
  6. Virginia driver’s license.
  7. Ability to work weekends consistently and work holidays as needed.
  8. Must be a team player and also needs to work independently.

Desirable

  1. Certification in HVAC, Electrical, or Plumbing.
  2. Ability to speak Spanish.

Skills Required
