Department Overview
The Robotic Process Automation (RPA) Engineering team maintains the process automation tools, develops/implements new automations and resolves requests/issues raised by the business for existing automations.
Job Description
The RPA Engineer will be responsible for designing, developing, maintaining, and enhancing solutions built on Microsoft 365, SharePoint and the Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and Dataverse) to streamline business operations and improve user experience. The role also includes delivering AI-enabled and agentic automation capabilities—leveraging tools such as Copilot, and orchestration patterns that allow workflows to reason, route, and act with human-in-the-loop controls. This position requires strong technical expertise in SharePoint architecture and adoption, Power Platform development and governance, integration with APIs, and various data sources. The Engineer will have the ability to analyze and resolve issues in a fast-paced environment while ensuring security, compliance, and responsible AI practices are optimal.
Key Responsibilities
Develop new automations and enhance existing ones based on stakeholder requirements
Troubleshoot and resolve issues logged by users in a timely and effective manner
Participate in ideation, planning, testing, and rollout phases of automation projects
Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for solutions and processes
Test new automation features and provide constructive feedback
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and assess feasibility
Evaluate and implement AI tools that complement RPA solutions; design and integrate AI capabilities into automation workflows, including Intelligent document processing (IDP) and Natural language processing (NLP)
Required Qualifications
Four-year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
Minimum 5 years of experience delivering automation using the Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI) and Dataverse
Strong programming skills in Python and/or .NET (C#)
Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 and SharePoint Online (information architecture, permissions, sites/lists/libraries) and familiarity with governance and customization (e.g., SPFx)
Understanding of version control systems like GitHub or Code Build
Working in teams who value unit and acceptance testing, familiarity with test automation tools and frameworks
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Experience considered as an advantage
Experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g. using Copilot Studio, Azure OpenAI Service, or equivalent)
Experience with OCR and IDP platforms (e.g., using Azure AI Document Intelligence (Form Recognizer), UiPath Document Understanding, Amazon Textract)
