About This Role
The Automation Engineer II provides 24/7 process controls/automation technical site support to the Biogen 900 Davis drive, NC manufacturing site. In addition, this role manages multiple projects and continuous improvement initiatives that support the site from initial conception to final closure. The Automation Engineer II prioritizes between supporting the site and managing their assigned projects and tasks.
What You’ll Do
- Design, configure and support Wonderware and Rockwell software for small to medium process improvements and tech transfer configurations.
- Troubleshoot Wonderware and Rockwell Software and Hardware.
- Collaboration/Communication with multiple groups and stakeholders regarding project/product design, project planning and troubleshooting.
- Ownership of automation change control process and validation packages.
- GMP documentation updates – Design Document & Functional Specifications.
- Build and execute automation test protocols.

A self- starter and self-motivated individual who drives results and leads change. You are very organized and thrive working in a dynamic environment where strong technical knowledge and execution are required. You love and are interested in using software design, configuration, validation and implementation to resolve complicated manufacturing problems. You enjoy solving problems through collaboration and working on small to medium size projects start to finish.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline.
- 0 – 2 yrs experience in the Biotech industry.
- General programming experience.
- Some knowledge of Wonderware and Rockwell control systems.
- Some knowledge of cGMP and GAMP guidelines.
- Good communication, organization and planning skills.
- Comfortable collaborating with various teams – manufacturing engineering, quality, etc.
