Job Description
The Reflow & Flux Clean Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and sustaining SMT reflow soldering and post-reflow cleaning processes to ensure high product quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency. The role involves process troubleshooting, yield improvement, equipment qualification, defect reduction, and continuous process optimization in semiconductor, electronics, or PCB assembly manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities- Develop, optimize, and maintain reflow soldering and flux cleaning processes for SMT and semiconductor assembly operations.
- Monitor and improve key process parameters such as reflow temperature profiles, conveyor speed, atmosphere control, and cleaning chemistry performance.
- Troubleshoot process-related defects including solder bridging, voiding, non-wet opens, flux residue, delamination, and solder balling.
- Perform DOE (Design of Experiments) and root cause analysis to improve yield, quality, and reliability.
- Support new product introduction (NPI), process qualification, and equipment buyoff activities.
- Establish process control plans, SOPs, FMEA, and SPC monitoring for critical parameters.
- Collaborate with production, quality, equipment, and materials teams to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Drive continuous improvement projects focused on cycle time reduction, cost savings, and process capability enhancement.
- Analyze process data and prepare technical reports, presentations, and engineering documentation.
- Ensure compliance with EHS, cleanliness, and manufacturing standards.
- Support customer audits, internal audits, and reliability testing activities.
