About the Role

The Mechanical Design Engineer leads the development and integration of advanced automotive product solutions. This role requires deep expertise in mechanical design, in-vehicle integration, and cross-functional collaboration. The engineer will manage complex projects independently and provide technical leadership and mentorship within the team.

What You Will Do
  • Design and integrate Harman Automotive products using CATIA V5 (Rev 20 or higher) at an expert level.
  • Create and release 3D models, assemblies, and component drawings for in-vehicle applications.
  • Analyze packaging and integration with a focus on user experience, serviceability, and quality.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage project timelines and deliverables.
  • Apply Design for Assembly & Manufacturing principles to optimize product feasibility.
  • Prepare technical documentation and lead internal design reviews.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support team development.
What You Need
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, preferably in automotive.
  • Expert-level proficiency in CATIA V5 and in-vehicle product integration.
  • Strong understanding of automotive systems, materials, and manufacturing processes.
  • Hands – on mentality.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.

Bonus Points if You Have

  • Advanced degree such as a Master of Science in Mechanical Engineering or Business Administration.
  • Experience with vehicle development processes from major automotive manufacturers.
  • Familiarity with additional CAD tools, especially Unigraphics (NX) and CREO.
  • Prior experience in in-vehicle product integration and packaging design.
  • Knowledge of A-surface design principles.
  • Understanding of electronics and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in productivity software, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • You can obtain a government security clearance; You are eligible to work in China.
