ROLE DESCRIPTION
You will be a key member of the SES Technology Ground operations team's maintenance department. Your activities will include the implementation and active support of ground systems related hardware, equipment fault correction & development of Ground operations automation initiative. This comprises of interface management as well as coordination across multiple internal teams and customers. A further part of the role as a part of the ground operations team is to manage, operate and when required troubleshoot both SES owned equipment and customer equipment. These shall include end-to-end service support involving Site Infrastructure, Antenna & RF Sub-systems, Modem/Platforms installed in Betzdorf as well as worldwide at SES Gateways.

As a Engineer Ground Operations , you will be responsible to :
- Drive implementation of automation for ground testing equipment, including the subsystems of RF gateways devices such as ACU's, HPA's, switch matrix, up/down converters, modulators, inter-facility connection equipment (Fiber Optic), DCMs and Co-lo space devices
- Deliver on requirements from Continuous Service Improvement initiatives and monitor results across all operations with the aim of reaching zero outages
- Perform local/remote configuration, management and troubleshooting of GW Infrastructure
- Responsible to create and maintain up-to-date installation documentation for video and data services
- Manage and plan GW infrastructure preventive and corrective maintenance and spare parts provisioning, including supporting the RMA process for SES Ground infrastructure in line with respective CONOPS
- Lead all PaCoRa ranging system operations and modifications to ensure accurate ranging data is provided to flight dynamic department
- Provide Engineering support in the testing, monitoring, and ongoing maintenance of the Ground Infrastructure
- Work remotely or locally with site personnel on problem identification and resolution, perform root cause analysis, and support logistics functions for defective parts return and repair by vendors
- Assist in data analysis, anomaly evaluation and reporting
- Maintain technical project responsibility for assigned tasks and advise management of progress in support of the technical and administrative direction of project operations
COMPETENCIES
- Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Telecommunications, Electronics, RF) with at least 3 years of experience in a similar role or environment.
- Technical Expertise:
Strong hands-on skills across various domains including modems, antennas, RF components, power systems, and test/measuring instruments.
- Operational Readiness:
Willing to support emergency operations outside business hours; eligible for "SECRET" security clearance under applicable national and international regulations (EU/ESA/NATO).
- Communication & Collaboration:
Fluent in English with excellent written and verbal communication skills. Works effectively across engineering, operations, and business units to ensure aligned and smooth delivery.
