This position is based in Nike Korea Office located in Busan, Korea, reporting to the Manager, Cost Engineering. The role partners closely with Nike Footwear Manufacturing Partners and collaborates with cross-functional teams including Footwear Development, Engineering, Manufacturing, Sourcing, and Finance. The individual works alongside the Cost Engineering teams in Busan and across Asia to manage seasonal quoting, unlock value, and drive cost excellence. This role serves as both an internal and external subject matter expert in Nike Footwear Costing.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Nike is looking for an Engineer, Footwear Cost Engineering who is a proactive problem solver, capable of prioritizing effectively, delivering high-quality work, and adapting in a dynamic environment. The individual builds strong partnerships across teams to drive competitive, sustainable, and standardized costing practices across footwear.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in Footwear Engineering, Development, Manufacturing, or Product Costing is preferred. Related disciplines are also acceptable.
- Bachelor's degree with a focus in Engineering, Business Management, Finance, or related field.
- Working knowledge of footwear construction, manufacturing, innovation, costing, and supply chain operations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues, conduct research, and drive effective solutions in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate effectively with internal teams and external Manufacturing Partners.
- High proficiency using Outlook, MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI; familiarity with AI tools is a plus.
- Willingness to travel internationally (up to 10%) and commute across multiple locations, including Nike offices and manufacturing partner sites.
- Strong written and oral communication skills both Korean & English.
WHAT YOU’LL WORK ON
As an Engineer, Footwear Cost Engineering, you will drive manufacturing cost efficiency at scale by leveraging Nike’s best practices. Key accountabilities include:
- Deliver cost optimization results aligned with product briefs while meeting Nike’s profitability expectations.
- Lead cost optimization initiatives and influence Manufacturing Partners across all phases of product creation and production.
- Communicate costing strategies and recommendations clearly, leveraging engineering and manufacturing insights to drive product and process improvements.
- Drive cost breakdown accuracy through comprehensive validation and analysis, including both product cost and operational cost drivers.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing Partners to validate labor process standards and capture value opportunities.
Skills Required
