The Role

Role Profile

LSEG's Post Trade Technology Division is having a Engineer opportunity, this role is responsible to ensure the reliability, availability, and performance of applications and environments. Expectation on this role is to work closely with developers, business and infrastructure to maintain a scalable and robust infrastructure that supports the organization’s business goals. Also it is expected to analyse the issues and finding solutions, deploying new releases, administrating and general maintenance, performing automations and service improvements.

Would be required to work on Morning, Day or Night shift based on UK time according to the monthly roster. Should be flexible enough to provide out of hours/extended support overnight, weekends on-call support.

Need to be experts in the underlying technologies used by the applications. This role may be required to provide detailed technical support for developers with producing bug fixes & new releases of these applications.

Must be self-motivating with the ability to prioritize workload among the team.

Key Responsibilities

Support of the LSEG Post Trade / London Clearing House (LCH) applications related to Shared Technical Platforms / Clearing Services.

Support of a critical element of the London financial infrastructure.

  • Perform as a site reliability engineer: Maintain the business-critical application and infrastructure to ensure the availability and reliability
  • Proactively identify the issues with effective monitoring
  • Trouble shoot the issues and find effective workaround/solution
  • Work with developers to find solutions for code issues
  • Follow the escalation matrix and escalate the issues to the appropriate stakeholders
  • Resolve Incidents and Problems
  • Align to ITIL standards
  • Deploy code/infrastructure releases and fixes
  • Support for the non-prod environment maintenance
  • Maintain working relationship with business teams and other stakeholders
  • Work on Morning, Day or Night shift based on UK time and on-call during the weekend according to the monthly roster
  • Perform automation and service improvements
  • Involve in disaster recovery test, fire drill, load test and capacity test
  • Support organization’s objectives
  • Maintain knowledge base and perform knowledge transfer
Candidate Profile / Key Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (IT/Software engineering or Computer science)
  • More than 2 years of industry experience in SRE/App support/DevOps/Software Engineering 
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong knowledge with Hands-on experience in UNIX/Linux is a must
  • Scripting skills (bash/shell scripting, Python, PowerShell) 
  • Experience in SQL query writing
  • Knowledge of Network Diagnostics
  • Experience in AWS cloud technologies
  • Knowledge in ITIL
  • Effective communication skill in English
  • Beneficial skills, experience and certifications:
    • Knowledge in IBM MQ explorer and MQ messaging Protocols
    • Exposure to Control-M
    • Knowledge in GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins CI/CD, Ansible and Terraform
    • Knowledge in version control repository (ideally Bitbucket /GitHub/ GitLab)
