About the Role
The Engineer, Acoustics will be responsible for the acoustic design and development of Car Aftermarket Audio products. The role needs to effectively drive internal project team and external suppliers for new technology implementations and continuous acoustic package upgrading to ensure the delivery of industry-leading sound performance.
Your Team
The Engineer, Acoustics will report to Director, Acoustics, work with acoustics team and cross function team to support the design and development of Car Aftermarket Audio products.
What You Will Do
Responsible for the acoustic design and development of Car Aftermarket Audio products, including the validation of sound concept, optimization of design parameters, algorithms tuning, sound tuning, sound performance evaluation with both objective measurement and subjective listening test, etc.
Support the sound requirement definition for Car Aftermarket Audio products and interact with related functions.
Support sound quality control in collaboration with Quality and other functional teams, including sound quality definition, sample evaluation, sound verification, etc.
Review product designs with project team and suppliers to ensure the understanding of all sound requirements.
Work with project team and suppliers for the product development from sound concept to mass production.
Monitor acoustics testing of new products and components at suppliers.
Responsible for conveying, communicating, and preserving original product definition, design integrity, performance and cost expectations, and scheduling requirements of assigned projects.
Perform acoustic and electrical tests on audio products using proper test systems.
Perform subjective listening test and evaluate sound quality of audio product.
Station at key supplier's design and manufacturing facilities, as an on-site "advocate" and "extension" of the development.
Assist line manager to improve sound development process, conduct ongoing research, and drive innovation to ensure the delivery of best sound quality products.
Create and maintain acoustic design documentation and reporting for various stakeholders.
What You Need
Bachelor or above degree of acoustics or related major.
5+ years’ acoustics background experience.
Solid knowledge in acoustic theory, acoustic test, and acoustic simulation.
Experienced at loudspeaker acoustic design, sound tuning and subjective evaluation.
Proficient in using Soundcheck, Klippel, and Audio Precision test system, etc.
Familiar with production line level manufacture, assembly, and test system.
Experience in working with vendors and contract manufacturers.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Can-do attitude and self-motivation.
Proficient in both spoken and written English.
What is Nice to Have
Golden Ears certification.
Knowledge in acoustic testing.
Experience in working with overseas companies in Europe and US.
Music related expertise.
What Makes You Eligible
Be willing to travel up to 10%, domestic and international travel.
Be willing to work in an office in Shenzhen.
