About the Role
Responsible for the continuous improvement and application of a range of vehicle noise management systems including Active Noise Control, Random Noise Control and Engine Sound Synthesis. Will need to organize and execute vehicle tuning/testing, analyze data appropriately, and apply results towards the design of high-performance audio systems utilizing advanced DSP, Acoustics, and Psychoacoustics engineering.
What You Will Do
Lead noise management systems development and tuning, working with local and global development teams
Analyze and investigate new noise management related technologies and best practices
Interface with OEM NVH teams to design, develop and continuously improve noise management systems and technologies
Develop and document noise management systems tools and best practices
Perform sofware and hardware testing of development designs
Use, maintain, and improve upon Best Practices and Design Standards via the Lessons Learned process and the Knowledge Base
Provides elevated support for Global HALOsonic engineering Teams in USA, China and etc. by providing suggestions, simpler interpretations or recommendations regarding engineering matters for faster responses
Generate and evaluates tuning procedures, tuning results, tuning reports, and other supporting documents as required.
Lead and may support, on-site testing, troubleshooting, field modifications
Confirm and release tuning EQ including test report.
Understand customer and internal requirements for all development and pre-development projects on specifications of Engine Sound Synthesis, Engine Order Cancellation and Road Noise Cancellation.
Represent Harman at customer meetings, conferences and training.
What You Need to Be Successful
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, acoustics engineering, or equivalent
5+ years of experience years of experience in acoustics and/or Powertrain NVH
Specific experience in NVH data acquisition
Skilled in Head Acoustics ArtemiS, Siemens Testlab, or equivalent NVH testing and analysis tools
Experience with independently developing and executing test plans for NVH performance evaluation and root cause analysis
Ability to work independently to meet customer schedules and expectations
Bonus Points if You Have
Specific experience in NVH data acquisition
Skilled in Head Acoustics ArtemiS, Siemens Testlab, or equivalent NVH testing and analysis tools
