Job Description

DUTIES:                               Provide technical leadership within teams responsible for designing and developing new software and web applications; write Python, Perl, and Linux Shell Scripts; build CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, Bamboo, Harness, and Github; perform version management and release coordination in GitOps and DevOps environments; administer cloud environments, including AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, and Azure, as a SysOps Administrator or Solution Architect; use RDK-V and RDK-B to develop software for video and broadband devices, respectively; utilize databases including Mongo DB and MySQL to store RDK analytics data; support applications under development and customize current applications; assist with the software update process for existing applications, and roll-outs of software releases; analyze, test, and assist with the integration of new applications; document all development activity; research, write, and edit documentation and technical requirements, including software designs, evaluation plans, test results, technical manuals, and formal recommendations and reports; monitor and evaluate competitive applications and products; review literature, patents, and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects; collaborate with project stakeholders to identify product and technical requirements; conduct analysis to determine integration needs; work with the Quality Assurance team to determine if applications fit specification and technical requirements; and guide and mentor junior-level engineers. Position is eligible to work remotely one or more days per week, per company policy.

REQUIREMENTS:             Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, any Engineering, or related technical field, and five (5) years of experience writing Python and Linux Shell Scripts; of which three (3) years include administering AWS cloud environments as a Solution Architect; utilizing databases including MongoDB and MySQL to store data; building CI/CD pipelines using Bamboo; performing version management and release coordination in a DevOps environment; of which one (1) year includes building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and Harness; and administering Pivotal Cloud Foundry cloud environments as a SysOps Administrator.
