Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the intersection of chemistry, engineering, computation, and biology to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets.
Please note that starting April 2025, Eikon Hayward positions will be moving to our new headquarters in Millbrae, CA

You will bring enthusiasm, high energy, intellectual curiosity, and scientific rigor to this challenge. You are excited about being a foundational member of a small but growing team.
What You Will Do
- Collaborate with scientists, hardware engineers, and other stakeholders to conduct in-depth analyses of proprietary imaging-based and biophysical datasets in support of advancing scientific and technical initiatives.
- Contribute to the development of novel algorithmic solutions for complex biophysical problems, leveraging image analysis, physics-based simulations, and related methodologies.
- Guide software solutions through the technical life cycle, from proof-of-concept to production, while adhering to engineering best practices as these solutions mature.
- Work closely with scientists and engineers to understand tactical needs and develop software solutions that ensure the continuity of experiments.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, establishing milestones and deadlines in alignment with broader company objectives.
Qualifications
- Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of related experience; or an advanced degree without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- Prior experience working with and analyzing scientific datasets is essential.
- Expertise in scientific Python programming (numpy, pandas) is required; additional experience with a strongly typed language (particularly C++) is desirable.
- Knowledge of biology at the introductory college level is required; exposure to biological/biophysical imaging, imaging hardware, and/or image analysis is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in software development best practices (version control, testing, etc.) is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Team-oriented, flexible, and able to adapt to rapidly evolving goals and challenges.
- Willingness to relocate to the Bay Area (hybrid schedule acceptable).
- Enthusiasm for gaining drug discovery experience is essential.

What We Do
Eikon Therapeutics is a new biopharmaceutical company employing revolutionary technology at the interface of biology, engineering and chemistry to discover novel treatments for life-threatening diseases. Eikon’s discovery platform is built on groundbreaking innovations from its founders (Nobel Prize, 2014), culminating in the creation of microscopes which enable real time, molecular-resolution measurements of protein movement in living cells.
By directly measuring the effects of chemical compounds on the behavior of protein molecules in a live cellular environment, Eikon’s landmark assays facilitate the highly sensitive identification of compound-protein interactions that could not be identified through traditional assays, thereby unlocking otherwise intractable classes of proteins as drug targets. Furthermore, the ability to directly visualize protein mechanisms in disease coupled with the extraordinarily high-powered high-content data sets generated by Eikon’s drug-screening technology enable an unprecedented opportunity to quantitatively explore novel biology in the living cell. These insights facilitate creation and application of data-driven hypotheses to the discovery of life-saving therapies.
Eikon is seeking adventurous, passionate and creative team members eager to apply their talents to empower interdisciplinary scientific exploration, inaugurate a radical drug-discovery paradigm, and ultimately create novel medicines.
