The Magna Exteriors portfolio of products includes access systems such as liftgates, exterior trim, modular systems, front-end modules including fascia, active aerodynamic systems and other lightweight structural components for automotive, commercial truck and other industrial markets.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a value stream map for each manufacturing process inside the facility.

  • Utilize lean manufacturing principals to reduce inventory and develop a single piece flow production system.

  • Lead the T.E.A.M. systems 5S implementation and assist in training employees on the 5S principals.

  • Work with program management to ensure facility readiness for all new program launches.

  • Perform time studies and monitor on-going line balancing activities.

  • Develop requirements for and obtain capital funding for required plant equipment.

  • Implement Poke yoka systems to prevent errors in the manufacturing process.

  • Continually improve the manufacturing process efficiencies to reduce production costs.

  • Review component and assembly designs to ensure all products have been designed for assembly.

  • Manage purchase order documentation consistent with IATF-16949 requirements.  Create efficient paperwork systems that minimize manual paperwork.

  • Must be trained on the CGARD system.

  • Responsible for updating the GCARD system for corrective actions. 

Who we are looking for: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or relevant experience in related field.

  • Experience with process development and line design, preferably in the automotive industry.

  • A minimum of two years’ experience in an engineering and/or manufacturing environment is required.

Your preferred qualifications: 
  • Experience with CAD.

  • Experience with Machine Development and Kick Off.
