Job Responsibilities:
Salary Range: $38.15 - $55.55 per hour

POSITION SUMMARY: The Controls / Robotics Technician contributes to the program launch team by ensuring new assembly equipment is designed and built to Presstran Standards. In this role, the individual will also be responsible to re-write the electrical, controls & robotics build standards for Presstran Industries.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
1. Completion of post-secondary education, and eligible for registration as a C.E.T., with three years of electrical experience preferred
2. Experience with various PLC and Industrial controls systems. Familiar with PLC programming and implementation (Allen-Bradley).
3. Experience with safety circuit design, program startup, verification, and trouble shooting.
4. Create and modify electrical and fluid schematics
5. HMI development and implementation (RsView, Panelview).
6. Microsoft Operating system setup and maintenance.
7. AutoCAD, Office applications.
8. Minimum two years' experience with robots and electronic control systems in a robotic welding process, preferably in an industrial setting is required.
9. Advanced robot automation programming and troubleshooting skills are required
10. Proven ability to interact well with co-workers (Electricians, Millwrights, Tool Makers, Operators) and promote the "Team" attitude to troubleshoot and restore production flow.
11. Robot and Machine Automation experience.
12. Basic program management skills leading a small team
DUTIES:
1. Work independently and with minimal supervision.
2. Plant / Engineering support in troubleshooting/repairs and systems improvements (optimization).
3. Keep current knowledge on PLC programming standards, robot safety, new safety components and materials, safety software for calculating reliability levels and other controls-related items.
4. Keep current with Z434 & Z432 to ensure our standards meet the required levels of safety
5. Perform PHSR as expected and sign off working with health and safety
6. Update the Presstran Electrical / hydraulics /pneumatics/ Controls & Robotics Build Standard
7. Establishes and follows-up full project implementation including timing, concept, feasibility, design, specifications, construction and commissioning.
8. Maintains and upgrades all PLC related software: assist in training of staff on electronic equipment.
9. Develops controls, and designs concepts.
10. Computer programming, AutoCAD, Office applications
11. Comes to work each day, as scheduled.
12. Approaches each day and each challenge with a positive attitude.
13. Conducts themselves in a professional manner when receiving or giving feedback/information, whether it is positive or constructive.
14. Supports and models the Presstran operational procedures/policies, Employee Handbook and "How We Work Together", Magna Employee's Charter, Magna Corporate Constitution.
15. Follows and complies with all operational procedures/policies as stated in the Employee Handbook, Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety programs (e.g., TS16949, ISO14001, ISO 45001, IATF).
16. Follows and adheres to the requirements of IATF 16949, ISO 14001, ISO 45001 as required.
Perform all duties in a safe manner in accordance with Section 28 of the Occupational Health & Safety Act and Regulations for Industrial Establishments
Required to adhere to all Health and Safety programs in accordance with the OHSA. Follows and ensures the Company's procedures regarding safety rules and regulations are followed throughout their assigned area.
17. Takes pride in keeping their work area clean and tidy.
18. Other duties as required.
