Hybrid - This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Warren, Michigan, three times per week, at minimum [or other frequency dictated by the business.]
The Role
The Process Engineer in the Energy Efficiency team plays a pivotal role in optimizing industrial processes to reduce energy consumption, improve operational efficiency, and support sustainability goals. This position involves analyzing, designing, and implementing innovative solutions that enhance energy performance across various systems while ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards. It will be key to collaborate effectively across multiple business units including Manufacturing Engineering, Construction, Finance, and Sustainability.
What You'll Do
- Identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements and/or decarbonization projects aligned with corporate goals.
- Work with external vendors/consultants to develop comprehensive project proposals
- Work closely with construction, operations, maintenance and engineering teams to ensure alignment on project proposals and implementation
- Measure effectiveness of projects and capture lessons learned
- Types of projects include but are not limited to process optimization, equipment upgrades, energy recovery systems, etc.
- Engage with technology vendors and industry partners to explore advanced solutions
- Develop roadmaps for integration of future technologies into existing systems.
Additional Description
Your Skills & Abilities (Required Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related sciences or bachelor's degree and relevant work experience
- 5+ years relevant experience in energy and manufacturing
- Proven leadership in energy efficiency or similar discipline.

- Degree or certification in energy management or related field
- Strong sense of teamwork and shared achievement of team targets.
