Galveston County Health District is seeking an experienced and quality-driven EMS Quality Assurance Analyst to support the Galveston Area Ambulance Authority (GAAA). In this role, you will lead the daily operations of our Quality Assurance Program, helping ensure exceptional patient care, documentation accuracy, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across emergency medical and transport services.

What You’ll Do:

• Manage and maintain the EMS Quality Assurance Program in compliance with Texas DSHS regulations
• Monitor patient care documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with GAAA standards
• Review over 95% of patient care records and provide regular reporting to EMS leadership
• Ensure adherence to patient care standards, medical director protocols, HIPAA, and all applicable laws and regulations
• Identify trends, opportunities, and risk areas through QA reviews
• Recommend and support staff education and training based on QA findings
• Assist with staff development initiatives and documentation standard improvements
• Collaborate with the EMS Medical Director and Chief of EMS on research and quality improvement projects
• Support continuous improvement of policies, procedures, and patient care standards
• Present QA findings and recommendations regularly to the Chief of EMS
• Perform other duties as assigned

What We’re Looking For:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Associate degree preferred
• 4+ years of Paramedic experience in EMS operations, including 2+ years leading an EMS team OR 4+ years of full-time RN experience in emergency care
• Current Texas Paramedic certification/licensure with no unresolved DSHS complaints OR current Texas RN license
• Certified Ambulance Documentation Specialist required
• Experience maintaining compliance within an established EMS Quality Assurance program
• Strong knowledge of EMS documentation, patient care standards, protocols, and applicable state laws
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical practices, procedures, and first aid applications
• Understanding of drug, supply, equipment, and medical record security and inventory control
• Basic knowledge of ambulance and rescue vehicle operations and equipment maintenance
• Knowledge of continuing education requirements, risk management, and safety strategies
• Strong written, verbal, and computer skills, including Microsoft Office
• Customer-service oriented with excellent attention to detail
• Valid Texas driver’s license (or ability to readily obtain)
• Ability to travel locally as needed without reliance on organization vehicles
• Willingness to work evenings and weekends if necessary
• Must meet immunization, ICS training, background check, DMV/MVR, and drug/alcohol screening requirements

Physical Requirements

• Ability to review records and work extensively in computer-based systems
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, and occasional local travel
• Ability to move between office, field, and training environments as needed
