AsIAm is Ireland’s National Autism Charity based in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. The Role:
This role will lead on building meaningful partnerships with employers and stakeholders to expand inclusive, accessible employment opportunities for Autistic people. The role reports to the Head of Employment and Post 18’s Transitions and works closely with colleagues across the Department.
The Employer Engagement Officer will contribute to systemic change by supporting organisations to engage with AsIAm’s Employment Partnership Programme with the aim of adopting neuroaffirmative, rights-based recruitment and workplace practices.

Key Responsibilities:
Support the ongoing development and delivery of AsIAm’s Employment Programme.
Build positive relationships with employers and organisations who are committed to creating more inclusive workplaces for Autistic people.
Pitch and recruit new employment partners to our Employment Partnership Programme via sector networking, stakeholder mapping etc and maintain current employer partnerships, working in adherence to agreed growth and retention targets. Promote and support autism-inclusive and neuroaffirming recruitment and workplace practices.
Deliver workshops and information sessions to employers on autism inclusive hiring and workplace accessibility.
Coordinate employment placements and provide support to employers to help ensure positive outcomes.
Engage with research, policy, and emerging practice to help ensure programmes are informed by evidence-based and community-led approaches.
Assist with AsIAm Communities of Practice, and other events and engagement activities.
Participate in cross-organisational projects and collaborative initiatives.
Monitor programme progress, identify successes, and challenges, and prepare reports for the Head of Employment & Post-18 Transitions as required.
Work collaboratively across the wider team and provide support to colleagues where needed, supporting organisational strategy and programme development in line with AsIAm’s mission, values, and strategic priorities.
Collaborate with the Fundraising department to identify and engage potential new employer partners and supporters.
Support the preparation of funding applications, programme reporting, and the continued growth of sustainable employment initiatives.
We are seeking someone who:
Has experience in sales and business development, partnership building, stakeholder engagement, and networking with international and local businesses.
Demonstrates strong communication and relationship-building skills grounded in respect, empathy, and collaboration.
Is committed to advancing inclusion, equality, and the rights of Autistic people.
Understands, or is willing to learn about, neuroaffirmative and rights-based approaches to disability and employment.
Has experience delivering training, workshops, or presentations to a range of audiences.
Is motivated to centre Autistic voices and lived experience in their work.

Key Requirements:
Experience, Education, Skills, and Abilities Required
A degree-level qualification in a relevant area or relevant field experience.
A minimum of 3 years evidential experience in sales and business development, partnerships, stakeholder engagement or a related profession.
Strong project management skills.
Knowledge of autism and neurodiversity in the context of employment and workplace inclusion.
Skilled in regularly delivering presentations and facilitating workshops.
Previous experience working in a similar role within the charity sector, an NGO, or a Disabled Persons’ Organisation (DPO) is desirable.
Full drivers license and own vehicle as regular local and national travel is required.
Contract Duration:
This is a fixed term contract for one-year, with the potential to be extended subject to funding.
Salary and Benefits:
Salary will align with Grade IV as set out in the HSE Consolidated Pay Grades.
Working Hours:
The role is typically Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm with flexibility around start and finish times.
The role holder is required to have a degree of flexibility regarding working hours with the expectation of some evening and weekend work.
Location:
The role is based in AsIAm HQ in Blackrock, Co. Dublin. Hybrid working options are available for this role and can be agreed with the line manager subject to the organisation’s needs.
