Working within our fast-paced HR Operations Team, the ER Advisor will provide effective HR advice, with a heavy focus on Employment Law, across UK&I population to ensure all employee relations activity is managed fairly, efficiently and ensuring the interests of business and employees are managed appropriately. The Employee Relations Team provides advice and support across 7 manufacturing, unionised factories and 3 corporate offices in a remote capacity via videoconference, telephone and email.

The HR office is based in Liverpool and operates a hybrid working pattern. However, as a fully remote team, other patterns can be considered dependent on location.

What will this role achieve?

  • Ensuring fairness and efficiency for a wide range of ER issues
  • Ensuring that key partners and managers are coached on how to deal with ER issues, including but not limited to Grievance, Disciplinary, Ill Health Capability and Performance matters.
  • Ensure partner engagement on a wide range of tasks.
  • Delivering up to date employment law knowledge

What will be your key deliverables?

  • Providing advice and guidance online and by telephone across the full spectrum of ER issues, particularly Grievance, Disciplinary, Capability and Performance matters.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key partner groups to encourage the application of ER best practice
  • Act as a mentor or escalation point to key partners, providing supportive guidance on all ER cases
  • Manage and resolve cases in a timely manner to meet ER SLAs and key metrics.
  • Capture and track all advice and key information within our case tracking system to ensure we provide accurate MI reporting
  • Prepare and coach managers in conducting discussions, meetings, and interviews with employees
  • Performance reviews and Performance Improvement Plans
  • Working with trade unions
  • Although we are a remote based team, supporting most cases via Video Conferencing, UK site travel may be required from time to time as needed to support with complex ER cases

Bring your experience

Essential

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage, influence and motivate a variety of stakeholders on HR best practice
  • Proven experience of working in a ER role with a sound understanding of employment law
  • Passion and drive to empower and engage team members and partners.
  • Builds respected, trusted and supportive relationships with key partners
  • Well-developed Organisational Skills to ensure the efficient and successful delivery of HR advice.
  • A personal desire to continuously learn and develop to ensure new practices and thinking are understood and embraced.

Desirable

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent experience.
  • An FMCG/Manufacturing background would be a benefit
