POSITION PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

This is a full-time leadership position that reports to the Chief Human Resources Officer. With the support of organizational leadership, this position is responsible for advancing a positive and cohesive organizational culture through internal communications, employer branding, employee engagement, well-being initiatives, staff development programming, and community outreach efforts.

The Director will develop and implement strategies and programs that strengthen culture, enhance employee experience, and ensure alignment with Riveon’s mission and values.

This position will also oversee certain benefits administration functions.

Organizational Culture & Engagement

  • Cultivate a strong organizational culture through targeted initiatives and programs that connect employees at all levels.
  • Organize employee events, activities, and recognition programs, including service awards, longevity milestones, and appreciation initiatives.
  • Coordinate and facilitate agency-wide meetings, cultural events, and staff communication platforms.
  • Gather and analyze employee feedback through tools such as Paylocity Employee Surveys and recommend strategies for continuous improvement.

Employee Development & Well-Being

  • Establish and oversee employee well-being programs, including wellness committee activities and holistic health initiatives.
  • Support new hire onboarding and orientation, including hosting and administrative coordination.
  • Oversee staff development and training programs, including workshops, leadership sessions, and mentoring opportunities.

Workforce Development & Community Outreach

  • Coordinate the agency’s internship, apprenticeship, and student programs to expand the future workforce pipeline.
  • Lead outreach and partnership opportunities with community stakeholders to support workforce development and community health initiatives.
  • Support collaborative service delivery programs such as harm reduction and health education outreach.
  • Encourage employee participation in volunteerism and community activities by coordinating incentives and engagement programs.

Employee Support & HR Collaboration

  • Partner with HR in administering employee recognition, engagement, and retention strategies.
  • Conduct exit interviews and share insights to strengthen culture and retention.
  • Support administration of insurance benefits, including health, ancillary, disability, and life coverage.
  • Provide responsive employee support related to workplace culture, engagement, and benefits.

Benefits Administration 

  • Provide oversight of employee benefits administration.
  • Responsibilities include enrollments and responding to employee inquiries.
  • Ensure accuracy, compliance, and smooth processes.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Professional office environment; frequent computer use and prolonged sitting.
  • May be required to stand, stoop, bend, or lift light objects.
  • Occasional local travel for orientations, community events, and partnership meetings.
  • Must maintain capacity for sound judgment and regular attendance.

Amount of Travel

Minimal to moderate, mostly local.

Requirements

GENERAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Proven experience in organizational culture development, employee engagement, and internal communications.

Strong leadership, change management, and project management capabilities.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and levels of leadership.

Ability to adapt to change, manage stress, and exercise sound judgment.

Knowledge of community health programs and behavioral healthcare environments preferred.

Experience with recognition, staff programming, or mentorship initiatives preferred.

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Psychology, Nonprofit Administration, Healthcare Administration, or commensurate related experience.

Technical certificate in a related field preferred.

Proficiency with HRIS (such as Paylocity), employee engagement tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
