Te Tūranga – About the role
Due to a sabbatical, we have an exciting opportunity for an Emerging Talent & Inclusion Manager to join us on a 12-month secondment opportunity until March 2027, leading the design and delivery of our emerging talent and inclusion programmes during a period of cover.
This is a pivotal leadership role where you’ll shape the future of our workforce, ensuring we attract, support and grow diverse emerging talent while progressing our inclusion initiatives across the Co‑op.
Reporting to the Head of Talent & Inclusion, and leading one direct report, you’ll work closely with the Emerging Talent & Inclusion Partner, Employee Tribes, People & Culture teams, and leaders across the Coop to bring our emerging careers and inclusion strategies to life. From strategic programme design through to hands on delivery, you’ll help position Foodies as a destination employer that reflects the diverse communities we serve.
Key responsibilities:
- Leading the design, implementation and ongoing management of our emerging talent programmes, ensuring they align to our Co-op goals
- Partnering with internal and external stakeholders (schools, universities, industry bodies) to attract and support diverse early careers talent
- Providing pastoral care, coaching and development support to programme participants
- Enhancing our employer brand through creative campaigns, events and outreach
Diversity & Inclusion
- Leading the execution and delivery of the Foodies Diversity & Inclusion Roadmap
- Collaborating with Tribe Co Leads and People & Culture teams to ensure initiatives are set up for success
- Building internal capability through education, facilitation and external partnerships

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring a strong mix of strategic thinking, delivery capability, and relationship building skills.
You’ll likely have:
- Proven experience in emerging talent, early careers or graduate programmes
- A strong background in diversity, inclusion or equity focused work
- Experience designing and delivering complex, multifaceted programmes
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills
- Confidence facilitating conversations across all levels of the organisation
