As an EMEA Senior Product Stewardship Specialist, you will play a key role in guiding PPG’s technical, business, and regional product stewardship teams to ensure compliance with current and emerging chemical regulations across the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
This role is based in Poland
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on existing and emerging chemical legislation in the EMEA region, including EU REACH, UK REACH, KKDIK, and Ukraine REACH.
- Monitor and interpret Biocidal Products Regulation (BPR) developments and communicate implications to internal stakeholders.
- Support the development of logic and systems for tracking global chemical inventory data for products and raw materials.
- Collaborate with the GPS Raw Material team to address compliance concerns during raw material onboarding and changes.
- Identify and manage emerging regulatory issues in the EMEA region, contributing to global issue tracking and resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, legal advisors, and regulatory authorities.
- Respond to stakeholder inquiries regarding product stewardship and regulatory compliance.
- Partner with EHS IT to develop and enhance digital tools that support global compliance efforts.
- Maintain internal databases and systems related to product stewardship and emerging issues.
- Deliver training on chemical control regulations and compliance to employees across all levels.
- Apply problem-solving skills to proactively address potential non-compliance risks.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or EHS-related discipline.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in Product Stewardship, Regulatory Affairs, or EHS.
- Deep understanding of chemical regulatory frameworks and inventory compliance.
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and senior leadership.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to translate complex regulatory concepts to diverse audiences.
- Experience working in a multicultural, matrixed organization.
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
