We are seeking an exceptional System Engineer to join our Embedded Systems Hardware Team. As a System Engineer on our Embedded Systems Hardware Team, you will use the skillset of an ASIC Engineer that specifies, develops, designs, verifies, and documents ASIC and FPGA projects. Assignments include the analysis of all aspects from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, timing, power utilization, and low-level firmware function development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize lab equipment to establish operational data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
- Contribute to ASIC and embedded hardware architecture design, digital logic design, and system simulation.
- Integrate SoCs into broader hardware architectures.
- Design, verify, and analyze image processing, motor control, processor, memory interface, communication, and other hardware assist functions for System on a Chip (SoC) ASICs, or FPGAs.
- Document hardware assist functions for both design and test specifications including analysis and characterization of silicon upon design completion.
- Develop firmware for embedded applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional development teams to implement silicon solutions for multi-function devices.
- Collaborate with electrical engineers and firmware developers for SoC functional requirements.
- Work with external silicon vendors to communicate requirements and evaluate hardware solutions.
Additional Security Experience Desired:
- Knowledge of encryption standards and authentication methods to securely manage data being communicated among various firmware and hardware infrastructures.
- Knowledge of secure coding practices and procedures for both security firmware development and implementation.
- Experience with the latest advancements in technologies utilized to protect secure ICs from various types of security attacks.
- Skills to strengthen devices through both hardware and firmware system resources to reduce vulnerabilities.
Education and Experience Desired:
- BS or higher degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 8-10 years of embedded systems / ASIC / SoC experience.
- Embedded system integration experience.
- Experience or knowledge of VLSI design, ARM, RISC-V, Synopsis and/or Mentor Graphics EDA tools, Verilog/System Verilog, C/C++, Perl, Python, Linux.
- Proficiency with typical electrical lab equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and pattern generators.
