Embedded Software Quality Engineer
Job Description: We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Embedded Software Quality Engineer to join our team, focusing on both manual and automated testing of our embedded systems platform. This platform is a critical environment for evaluating AI models and other firmware/applications intended for deployment on a remote board farm.
This role is ideal for someone with a background in Embedded Systems or Electronics Engineering who can interpret system-level behaviors, validate firmware/application performance, and ensure robust integration with hardware.
Responsibilities:
- Review product requirements and specifications to understand the intended signal chain behavior and visualization outputs.
- Develop and execute manual test plans and test cases tailored to signal chain workflows and analog output scenarios.
- Analyzing system logs, performance metrics, and hardware/software interactions to verify expected behavior.
- Identify, document, and track software defects with clear reproduction steps and impact analysis.
- Collaborate with developers and product managers to clarify requirements and resolve issues.
- Perform regression testing following bug fixes and feature updates.
- Provide feedback on usability and workflow efficiency from an engineer’s perspective.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience in manual software testing, preferably for engineering or simulation tools.
- Advanced scripting or programming knowledge (e.g., Python, MATLAB) for test automation or data analysis.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, device to device communications (both wired and wireless), analog and digital interfaces.
- Ability to interpret and validate graphs and signal outputs.
- Familiarity with software development and testing processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical thinking.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience in using electronic test and measurement instruments such as oscilloscopes, logic/RF analyzers, and signal generators.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
- Exposure to version control systems (e.g., Git) and issue tracking tools (e.g., Jira).
