About us:
Aeva’s mission is to bring the next wave of perception to a broad range of applications from automated driving to industrial robotics, consumer electronics, consumer health, security, and beyond. Aeva is transforming autonomy with its groundbreaking sensing and perception technology that integrates all key LiDAR components onto a silicon photonics chip in a compact module. Aeva 4D LiDAR sensors uniquely detect instant velocity in addition to 3D position, allowing autonomous devices like vehicles and robots to make more intelligent and safe decisions.
Role Overview:
We are seeking an Embedded Software Architect with deep expertise in Adaptive AUTOSAR and automotive security to lead the design and integration of Aeva’s LiDAR firmware with Adaptive Autosar based middleware platforms. You will define and drive the software architecture that enables seamless interoperability, meets safety and security compliance, and supports production deployment of Aeva’s LiDAR systems in automotive environments.
What you'll be doing:
- Define and own the software architecture for integrating Aeva’s sensor firmware with Adaptive AUTOSAR based middleware environment.
- Lead technical discussions and design alignment with OEM platform teams to ensure compatibility, security, and performance requirements are met.
- Architect and guide implementation of Adaptive AUTOSAR Components such as Execution Manager, Diagnostic Manager, Platform Health Management, Persistency, and DLT
- Define and implement security architecture covering secure boot, key management, and end-to-end protection in compliance with ISO/SAE 21434.
- Contribute to functional safety design and ensure consistency with ISO 26262.
- Oversee communication interface design (SOME/IP, DoIP, UDS) and coordinate low-level integration with RTOS and bootloader components.
- Mentor engineers, perform design reviews, and ensure adherence to software design patterns and best practices.
What you have:
- 10+ years of experience in embedded C++ software development, with strong experience in Adaptive AUTOSAR and complex system integration.
- Proven experience architecting multi-threaded C++11/14 applications for Embedded Linux or QNX running on ARM-based SoCs.
- Deep understanding of AUTOSAR architecture, software design patterns, and middleware integration.
- Expertise in secure communication protocols, cryptographic key handling, and in-vehicle network security.
- Familiarity with RTOS, Ethernet, and hardware abstraction layers.
- Experience supporting safety and security audits (ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434).
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively across hardware, software, and systems teams.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- Proficiency in English is mandatory.
What's in it for you:
- Be part of a fast paced and dynamic team
- Very competitive compensation and meaningful stock grants
- Exceptional benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, and more
- Unlimited PTO: We care about results, not punching timecards
