Job Description:
Role Summary
As an Embedded DevOps Engineer, you will work closely with a product development team and act as the key enabler for getting services production‑ready in GCP. This role is the “engine” that helps product teams onboard to our cloud, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and operational readiness practices, ensuring services can be deployed, supported, and run reliably in production.
Key Responsibilities
• Work embedded with product teams to enable safe and repeatable deployments from DEV to PROD, including application releases and infrastructure changes.
• Build, improve, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitOps principles and ensure teams follow standard guardrails.
• Develop and maintain application‑specific Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to deploy services (containers/VMs, secrets, load balancers, certs) using reusable platform components.
• Act as first responder for production incidents for the applications you support; drive operational concerns to closure in partnership with SRE/ROC and development teams.
• Improve operational efficiency by automating repetitive tasks and contributing to self‑service frameworks for developers.
• Identify gaps and drive improvements across reliability, scaling, automation, and cost optimisation for your product area.
• Partner with architects/platform teams to review architectures and ensure solutions meet cloud readiness / operational standards.
Education / Background (Expectation)
• B.Tech/M.Tech in Computer Science
• Product company experience preferred; fintech/domain experience preferred
Must‑Have Skills (Non‑Negotiable)
High ownership, clear communicator, comfortable working embedded with product teams.
GCP (3+ years) in production environments.
Strong Kubernetes / GKE experience (running & supporting production workloads).
Docker + container build/release patterns (hands-on).
CI/CD with GitHub Actions (build + deploy + troubleshooting).
Terraform (IaC) for infra delivery.
NGINX + Helm (Ingress basics, chart usage/standardisation).
Solid cloud networking (VPCs, firewall rules, ingress/egress).
Good‑to‑Have Skills
• Cloudflare exposure
• Observability tools: Prometheus / Grafana / Dynatrace (or similar)
• ArgoCD / GitOps tooling experience
• Scripting (Python)
• Java / Spring Boot support experience
• Exposure to AI tools / AI agents to improve site reliability
