The New Product Development Team is integral to the success of defining and bringing innovative products to market. We are seeking an experienced and technically driven engineer to drive the design, validation and implementation of embedded controls and electromechanical systems for new products and features. Areas of skill and expertise commonly leveraged include embedded controls development, electromechanical system design, wire harness design and integration, and collaborative problem-solving across cross-functional product development teams. As a Design Engineer II with our Embedded Controls team, you will apply engineering, design, and product development practices to deliver innovative, reliable, and best-in-class luxury appliances.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with cross-functional teams to design, prototype and implement in-product embedded controls, sensors, wire harnesses, and electromechanical systems for new products being released to the market.
  • Collaborate in the development of controls architecture, product requirements and technical specifications for new products and features.
  • Evaluate and refine designs through modeling, simulation, benchmarking, laboratory testing, and data analysis.
  • Partner with manufacturing, quality, supply chain and regulatory teams to ensure system performance, safety, reliability and cost targets are achieved.
  • Present technical concepts, design solutions, and test results for review by engineering peers, product teams, and management.
  • Troubleshoot technical issues and apply structured problem-solving methods to identify and implement effective solutions.
  • Plan, prioritize, and manage workload to meet project milestones and cross-functional development timelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or better in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • 3-6 years: Relevant engineering experience
  • 3+ years: Relevant software, hardware, and/or electromechanical design experience.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks or related CAD software.
  • Strong technical, written, oral, and team communication skills.
  • Applied creativity, proactive approach, and eagerness to overcome development efforts and provide effective/successful design solutions for new products.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience contributing to large, complex, or ambiguous technical projects requiring coordination across multiple stakeholders.
  • Wire harness design, integration, and validation.
  • Proficiency in Solidworks Electrical schematic creation and 3D routing.
  • Proficiency in Python, C++, or similar programming languages.
  • Electromechanical subsystem design.
  • Rapid prototyping
  • Development of functional, proof-of-concept prototypes, demonstrating the feasibility of solutions.
  • Quick-turn technologies and tools such as 3D Printing and/or other means of prototyping physical parts or assemblies.
  • Embedded programming and/or "input/output" software development.
  • Data capture and analysis.
  • Understanding of consumer electronics product development and manufacturing processes, particularly during early-stage product definition and development.
