Job Description:
Bridge the gap between the physical and digital worlds as an Embedded AI Software Engineer! Join us in developing and optimizing advanced embedded systems that drive our innovative, AI-powered products. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and integrate hardware and software solutions, focusing on exceptional performance, reliability, and intelligent features. This role centers on developing and maintaining embedded software for Analog Devices' extensive product portfolio, with a strong emphasis on porting, optimizing, and deploying AI toolchains and neural network frameworks. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge projects, collaborating with diverse teams to deliver high-quality, AI-enabled software solutions for embedded systems.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain efficient, reusable, and reliable embedded software for various hardware platforms, with a focus on AI integration.
- Port, optimize, and deploy AI toolchains and neural network frameworks (such as PyTorch, Executorch, MobileNet, CNNs, RNNs, autoencoders) onto embedded systems.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to define software and AI requirements, ensuring seamless integration with hardware components.
- Develop and implement software for real-time operating systems (RTOS), bare-metal environments, and edge-based AI inference.
- Contribute to code documentation and the creation of AI software user guides.
- Conduct thorough testing and debugging of embedded AI software to ensure high performance, reliability, and accurate inference.
- Optimize software for performance, memory usage, power consumption, and efficient AI processing.
- Learn and apply best practices in embedded software development, AI model optimization, and debugging.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field; a Master's degree is an advantage.
- High proficiency in embedded software development, with a strong understanding of C/C++ programming languages.
- Experience with microcontrollers and microprocessors software development, including AI model deployment and optimization.
- Experience with AI frameworks and toolchains, such as PyTorch, Executorch, TensorFlow, MobileNet, CNNs, RNNs, autoencoders, and related technologies.
- Experience with Zephyr and Linux operating systems.
- Knowledge of hardware communication protocols (SPI, I2C, UART, etc.).
- Familiarity with Git for version control.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with FPGA development and firmware programming, including AI acceleration.
- Familiarity with software development methodologies like Agile or Scrum.
- Familiarity with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices.
- Experience with unit testing frameworks and automated testing tools for embedded AI software.
- An active portfolio or repositories demonstrating past and present projects, especially contributions to large open-source AI or embedded systems projects.
