About the Role:
We are looking for an Email Developer Contractor to join our storefront design team. You will work closely alongside Design, Editorial, CRM, and Product Management to design and maintain the emails that make up our full suite, including promotional, lifecycle, and transactional communications. We’re looking for someone who’s excited to design beautiful, user-focused emails, is knowledgeable about email best practices, and on top of current email design trends. You must be someone who is comfortable collaborating cross-functionally and enjoys assisting with projects in addition to owning their own.
A successful candidate must be able to show specific work samples demonstrating clean, high-quality email designs that support templated designs and leverage current email best practices. This role is remote (US) and will report to our Sr. Email Developer & Designer.
You Will:
- Design email templates across all product categories and user lifecycle stages, including promotional blasts and full email series experiences
- Leverage insights, data, and research to identify and execute design improvements across existing communications and design net-new deliverables
- Explore how to make our communications more user-centered and actionable using design techniques that drive results
- Maintain emails by making edits to existing and new templates as they move through stakeholder feedback rounds
- Execute operational tasks related to the email review process including organizing and submitting templates to stakeholders and responding to feedback
- Manipulate and edit existing HTML/CSS email templates and template modules
You Have:
- 2+ years of experience designing emails
- Expertise using Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, or equivalent to create email designs and image assets
- Experience designing a variety of different types of email templates, including promotional, lifecycle, and transactional
- Experience building out email wireframes and communicating copy requirements cross-functionally
- Experience designing in adherence to a design system and modular HTML/CSS library
- Experience working within corporate brand standards
- Knowledge about design thinking, the design process, and eager to expand your email design skillset
- Thrive in a collaborative environment and enjoy assisting with all stages in the process of email creation
Nice to Have:
- Knowledge of email HTML & CSS (or desire to learn and develop coding skills)
- Understanding of dark mode design and development optimization
This is a 9-month independent contractor position. These fees are subject to adjustment based on a range of factors including skill set, experience and training, and geographic location.

This is a contract role that will be paid on a weekly basis. Outlined below is a reasonable estimate of H&H’s compensation range for US-based candidates.
The actual amount will take into account a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and location.
Consult with your Recruiter during any potential screening to determine a more targeted range based on location and job-related factors. We don’t ever want the pay range to deter you from applying!

$2,300—$2,900 USD
